Mural Monday – Three Hills (2)

One of the things that Three Hills is most famous for is Prairie Bible Institute. It is a  91-year-old Bible College and private high school located right in Three Hills  (it first opened in 1922).

With that history of faith in the community, perhaps it’s not a surprise that the Three Hills area has many churches. This mural titled “The Churches of Yesteryear: 1900-1955” pictures fourteen.

The wall nearest the cenotaph has a mural honoring veterans of the Air force, Navy, Army and Peacekeepers.

On the Sunday we were in Three Hills, my husband and I decided to explore the grounds of Prairie Bible Institute on our morning walk. It was practically deserted (as school hadn’t started yet). The sign in one window caught my eye: “The Elisabeth Eliot Prayer Chapel.”

I went to the door, tried the doorknob, found it was unlocked, and we went inside. What a Sunday morning treat to find this sacred spot!

We loved our visit to Three Hills for more than one reason!
