Thursday Challenge: BLUE

Mosaic - Golden B.C.

Mosaic – Downtown Golden B.C. (Photo © 2013 by V. Nesdoly)

We came across this beautiful mosaic in downtown Golden this summer (very near the covered bridge).

I imagine it’s telling a story of the river (the Kicking Horse River flows right through the town), and life in the community. The light green pieces in the upper left depict the land’s plenty (apples, cherries, canning jars, bread). The middle section shows people of all ages on the banks, watching the rapids. The eggs in the upper right may have some indigenous pictograph symbols on them. I also see a treble clef (for music), and a bear near a stream with an eagle flying overhead to represent the surrounding wildlife.

This week’s Thursday Challenge is BLUE. More photographic takes on BLUE from all over the world HERE.

Next Week: WET (Water, Pool, Rain, Umbrella, Boots,…)
