Thursday challenge: ATTRACTIVE

White with purple edge African violet

After several seasons of dormancy, my African violet has burst into bloom!

My dictionary defines “attractive”: “Having the quality of attracting interest or affection, pleasing, winning; having the power or property of exerting physical attraction.”

This African violet has lived in our house since we moved here in 2007–a housewarming gift from a friend. I have actually considered throwing it out at various times because for long periods it will just sit there doing nothing. But this fall it came to life again, bursting into glorious bloom, and just in time to brighten the house during these lengthening autumn-to-winter days. In my world it hits every part of the definition of “attractive.”
